I just watched the video on "How to use Cross References when Studying the Bible". So helpful to know this! Thank you Asheritah! You are the first person to introduce this to me. I'll be using this, moving forward with my Bible studies;
- Shereen N.
Imagine opening your Bible, reading a passage, and understanding what it means to your life today.
Imagine growing to love and know God through Scripture more whether you have 2 minutes or 2 hours.
Imagine being confident in your Bible study skills, knowing how to correctly interpret and apply a text even if you’ve never attended a Bible college.
Sounds like a dream?
Well, that can be your reality.
Have you ever felt overwhelmed when opening your Bible, wondering “Where do I start? How do I know what it means? How do I apply it to my life?”
Well, friend, you’re not alone.
I was in that place too, but a mentor taught me how to study the Bible as a young woman, and God gave me an insatiable desire for His Word. Now, I want to teach you too.
What’s keeping you from reading your Bible more? Is it…
- Feeling overwhelmed
- Lacking time
- Not knowing how
I know what that’s like, but it doesn’t have to be that way.
The psalmist says, “Open my eyes that I may see the wonderful things in your law” (Psalm 119:18 NIV).
When we ask God for help, He guides us to understand His Word. And if you want to learn to study God’s Word for yourself, I want to help.
A few years ago I started an online community for women who love Jesus and want to grow to know and love Him more. For over two years, I recorded monthly training videos teaching them new Bible study skills, and we practiced those skills together.
Now I want to invite you to learn from those videos too, so I put them into a Bible Study Skills Library.
Don’t worry—you don’t have to watch all the videos at once. In fact, you can take your time and watch one a month, like our community did. The important thing is not accumulating more head knowledge (that method is for quiz-cramming in high school). Our goal here is to discover more about God in His Word, and that comes with practice, so I’ll invite you to take your time, learning and practicing one skill at a time.
I’ve organized the library by skill level, from foundational to advanced, so you can start at the very beginning. Or, if you’ve been studying the Bible for a while, you can jump to the intermediate or advanced skills. I’m sure you’ll learn something new! You can also browse and pick and choose whatever interests you most!
Best of all, there’s no tests or grades—just tremendous growth as you hunger for God’s Word more and more.
Access to the Bible Study Skills Library will:
- Transform your Bible study overwhelm to Bible study confidence
- Help you cultivate a consistent Bible study habit
- Give you practical step-by-step instruction in foundational Bible study skills
- Teach you the inductive Bible study method
- Show you exactly how to use commentaries, cross-references, and concordances (and why you’d want to!)
- Invite you to fun and creative ways to study the Bible (like colors and maps)
- Train you in my favorite Bible study apps
- Walk you through books of the Bible with bonus reading plans
These are the same Bible study skills your pastor uses to prepare his sermon on Sunday morning… but take heart! YOU can study the Bible too! And you don’t need to pay thousands of dollars on a seminary degree to do it.
Ready to get started?
Wondering what’s inside?
- BONUS: 7 printable Bible reading plans to help you decide what to study next
- BONUS: 3 honest Bible reviews to help you choose your best study Bible
- BONUS: Quiet Time worksheets to help you plan and maintain a consistent Bible study habit
You can access the library videos and materials anytime, anywhere, from your desktop computer, laptop, smartphone, or tablet. You can print out the bonus materials or download them on your computer or phone.
You can go at your own pace, watch a video a week, or binge-watch all the videos instead of a Netflix sesh this weekend. (Just kidding. I mean, you could, but I promise you’ll want to pull out your Bible and notebook and actually put in practice everything you’re learning while you watch!)
You can watch on your own, watch with your kids, or invite your friends to get their own access to the Library so you can all learn together. (Contact us for group rates.)
There’s nothing more rewarding than hearing God speak to you directly and personally through His Word, and the best way to do that is in community, so invite others to join you as you all learn to study God’s Word together!
Much like learning to ride a bike, bake a cake, or any skill in life, learning to study the Bible is simple enough when you break it down into steps and practice, practice, practice!
In fact, women all over the world have discovered the joy and freedom of studying the Bible for themselves through our Bible study video tutorials.
Up until now, these videos have only been available inside our myOneThingAlone community, but now, for the first time ever, we’re making them available to everyone through our Bible Study Skills Library.
Here’s what some of our past students have to say about their favorite Bible study skills tutorials:
Your purchase of Bible Study Skills Library will get you immediate, 24/7 access to dozens of videos on finding trustworthy commentaries, using Bible maps, and screen-by-screen navigation of some of my favorite Bible study apps like Blue Letter Bible, and more!
It may take you a few days or weeks, but over time you’ll become more confident in your Bible study skills. And as you do, you’ll learn the truth the Psalmist declares about studying God’s Word for yourself:
"I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word" (Psalm 119:16 ESV).
Don’t listen to the lie that you’re not smart enough or educated enough for this.
God gave us His Word that we would grow to know Him and love Him more, and His Spirit alive in us will teach and guide us. You’ve got the best Instructor in the Universe just waiting to guide you!
“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you” (John 14:26 NIV).
With the Holy Spirit as your guide, you will grow more to know and understand the Bible more each day. And the more you study the Bible, the more you’ll learn about biblical culture and history, and before long you’ll be making connections across different books of the Bible that will make you SMILE SO BIG!! It's well worth the investment of time you’ll put in.
With God’s help and a little guidance, you CAN do this!!!
