Why You’re Not Consistent in Your Daily Devotions (And What to Do About It)

Want to know the secret to being consistent in your daily devotions?

Many of us struggle to be consistent with our quiet times or daily Bible reading.

When this happens, one of the most important things we need to ask ourselves is, “What motivates me?”

Is it because you feel like you have to in order to be a “good Christian”?

Do you think you have to impress God?

Are you trying to set an example for someone else?

Are you doing daily devotions just because everyone else does, and you think that’s what you’re supposed to do?

I admit, I’ve done daily devotions for all these reasons and more.

But if any of the above are the primary reasons we engage in a regular practice of quiet time or Bible reading, then we will struggle, because it misses the point.

The reasons above are not motivation enough to stay consistent.

Maybe you know you “should” eat in a healthy way, but is that enough motivation to stick with a particular diet? Usually not.

In a similar way, is “should” enough for our daily devotions?

If you’re feeling the burden of “should” when it comes to your relationship with God, this video is for you.

Listen in to learn the secret to being consistent in daily devotions and personal quiet time with God.
